i-Bar Intelligent Surface System

Technology at its best! This is something really cool!

"iBar is a system for the interactive design of any bar-counter. Integrated video-projectors can project any content on the milky bar-surface. The intelligent tracking system of iBar detects all objects touching the surface. This input is used to let the projected content interact dynamically with the movements on the counter. Objects can be illuminated at their position or virtual objects can be "touched" with the fingers.

The iBar system is ready to be installed completely into any kind of bar-counter, there's no need for any further installations on the ceiling or something like that. The software is flexible and can be adjusted and enhanced.

Videos, Newspaper, Brochures, Games, Fun, Visuals. Ambience etc"

Cheers!

Pandora's Music Box

Pandora is an online Internet Radio website that picks music based on your selections. For those of you who are familiar with Yahoo Music Internet radio, Pandora is very similar with a few exceptions. When you initially sign up, you pick an artist to begin the Internet Radio station with. Afterwards, Pandora will play similar music, but yet at the same time allows you to thumbs up, thumbs down, the recommendation. Based on your submissions of thumbs up or down, the music engine will learn your tastes in designing a custom playlist. With Pandora, you are able to create multiple stations. The basic version is free, and there is also a paid subscription option if you do not want to be subjected to ads. Pandora also links to direct music purchase from Amazon or iTunes.

The pros are that it is a cheap way of discovering new music. In the 90s we had College Music Journal magazine to get a monthly dose of new music. It was neat having the early release of a song to find out a few months later how it suddenly became "popular".

The con is of course it's still Internet Radio, and you are not allowed to download the music to mp3/mp4. Who knows, maybe you will find that diamond in the rough and find the next big music act.

I was very hesitant at first about using Pandora, but grew to love it and listen to it all the time. It allows a refreshing perspective from the monotony of traditional radio and your cd or iTunes collection. Variety is the spice of life, and Pandora definitely offers such to its listeners.

Teleflip

Hi Everyone,

Teleflip is a convenient and free way you can send an email to any cell phone via SMS without having to know the cell phone provider. You are allowed 100 messages for free every month through Teleflip. Teleflip will automatically figure out for you what provider the message needs to go through for the message to get to the destination phone.

Try it and just send an email to cellphonenumber@teleflip.com.
Example: 123456790@teleflip.com

With Teleflip, your cell phone, and Outlook or Gmail, you can setup a simple type of Blackberry system for your reminders or send out a mass text message to individual cell phones.

I personally use Teleflip for reminders of dentist/doctor appointments, birthdays, and get togethers with friends.

Burning the Midnight Oil: Techledger is Born.

Hello Everyone,

It is midnight August 3rd 2006. I am burning the midnight oil and officially tonight is the birth of the new Tech Ledger website.

According to the Concise Oxford English dictionary, a ledger is defined as the following:

ledger • noun a book or other collection of financial accounts. — ORIGIN originally denoting a large bible or breviary: probably from variants of LAY1 and LIE1, influenced by Dutch legger and ligger.

Basically the purpose of this website is going to be an online technology journal or book of sorts. Each day there will be a new item posted to share with everyone an interesting innovation, article, or trend in technology.

Yours Truly,
Gizmo
